IMPORTANCE OF PRE-SHAMPOO

When i started my healthy hair journey, one of the things i didn't really get to understand was the act of  pre-shampoo. why put so much of my delicious oils and end up washing then away on wash days.it sounded backwards, because i grew up to understand you oil your hair after shampoo and not the other way round.

Cleansing the hair with shampoo is important because it washes away products build-up, dirts, pollution and any other thing that has gotten stuck in the hair during the week. the downside of most shampoo is that it can strip our hair of it's natural oil, and our hair need some amount of oil to remain healthy. we don't want our hair to be squeaky clean. so this is where i found out why is very necessary to always pre-shampoo our hair before washing.

The pre-shampoo gives the hair a softening , deep oil treatment and also provides extra protection so that our hair does not get completely stripped during the shampooing process. its is also very important to use pure naturals for this process and this is very beneficial to whether you are relaxed or natural.

  1. I have tried many oils as pre-shampoo but I have to say that for my hair the most moisturizing is grape seed oil and coconut oils moisturise and strenghten the hair at the same time. I tried to skip this step a few times in the past but I always regret it, so now I stick to it every shampoo day !

  2. I'm not using shampoo any longer on my hair. I've noticed that it works better on my hair. But when I did shampoo I always pre-shampood. It worked best when I did. I could tell a huge difference when I did not.

  6. I might sound a bit silly, but I still want to ask what a pre-shampoo means?
I'm just discovering the co-wash in the last few months, but still looking for healthy advice.

  12. I absolutely love pre-shampoo treatments, and that's one of the few things I've been doing consistently since starting a hair journey. I use Coconut oil at the moment and it really helps to prevent that 'squeaky clean' feeling x
