HOW TO AVOID "HAND-IN-THE-HAIR" HABIT

This habit can be defined as frequent touching, twirling, pulling(or any other form of manipulation) of the hair especially the ends.

I just noticed that i have developed this bad habit of constantly touching and twirling my hair, i think am still fascinated by my new growth and coils.
Here are some techniques that has been helping me  keep my hand out of my hair.

  • For long hair style- wear pinned updos or buns. these styles will make it difficult for you to keep your hands in your hair since your hair is well tucked away.
  • Wear scarf or bonnet when at home.
  • Occupy your hands with other object when you feel the urge to play with your hair

  9. This actually has a medical name you know? I can't remember the name right now though.

I AM SO GUILTY OF THIS.
That's why I don't wear my natural hair as much. I tend to Pull, twirl, yank, and play with it. AND my hair starts falling out.
I lose hair on the left side of my head, because I twirl with my left hand. It's such a bad habit that I actually have prayed about it. lol...

I Have longer hair on the right side of my head because of this terrible habit. I think it's just the texture of my natural hair that makes it "sweet to twirl". So I always do protective hairstyles to avoid the twirl and yank.

Ok, long story done. Lol... There's nothing that helps me except protective styles and CATCHING myself when my hand is on my hair.

  13. I either wear braided styles that keep my ends wrapped up or I wear the scarf. Hard to play with my ends that way!

I've got my hair in braids right now, but, I can't resist the temptation to keep touching it. I need HELP. Btw, merry Christmas darling. Have you got anything planned?
